Although Peorias located in the midst of Illinois farm country, that doesnt mean that you need to go very far to find great events & entertainment.Peoria began its fame as a Vaudeville stop on the way to the big time (Ever heard the phrase Play in Peoria?) and continues to offer great shows, sports and events today.
Probably the biggest player inPeoria entertainment is the Peoria Civic Center which boasts a 12,000 seat arena (home to Bradley University Basketball, Peoria Rivermen Hockey and Pirates Indoor Football), a recently expanded Exhibit Hall plus Ballroom with over 110,000 square feet of space, plus a 2,177 seat theatre which welcomes several Broadway touring company shows each year. With over 2500 event days every year, the Civic Center is constantly offering events as diverse as gymnastics meets, Peoria Symphony and Peoria Ballet concerts, sporting events, family shows as well as conventions catering to all types of groups from throughout the country.
